I'd recommend that you add more details about what the tone of the game is supposed to be:
What's the story? What is the setting? Is the scrolling always in one direction - and which direction? Is it supposed to be funny?
Paint us a 'word picture'. :)
That's the issue, I don't know what the setting is. I was going for something funny, and the scrolling can go left of right (but usually right).
'To me', that sounds like a bit too early to ask for the input of people who aren't already actively working at your project. Maybe hold back on bringing in 'outsider input' until your game has more 'personality'. Otherwise it could end up feeling all over the place.
